This course was attended by the 88 first year students at MIADA, International Art & Design Academy in Chongqing (CQ), China.
There where five main themes (Perception, Composition, Systematics, Visual articulation and Identity). Each of these themes where introduced by a half-day talk, followed by an assignment and a presentation of the work.
Here you can see a selection of outcomes of each of the assignments. Students where generally encouraged (if not forced) to relate their design with self chosen subjects.
Graphic design was here promoted as a visual language consisting of simple basic elements, shaped by cutting and pasting, with the purpose to explain complicated content in a simple, understandable and invidual way.
Many thanks to Kuang Wei (Brian) for translation, assistance, ideas and joyful company.
